Boss Fights
Bosses
Every boss and enemy in star wars Jedi: Fallen Order can be defeated by following a basic strategy. Keep your block button held to avoid damage from regular attacks at all times. Don't try to parry against tough enemies. Try to evade as many attacks as possible, especially force attacks which cannot be blocked.
Oggdo Bogdo
Oggdo Bogdo were a rare subspecies of the Oggdo, a dangerous predator native to the Outer Rim planet Bogano. Highly aggressive and ferocious, the creature was larger and much deadlier than a common Oggdo with its lightsaber-resistant shell.
AT ST
The confrontation with AT-ST will take place after you visit the Tomb of Eilram on the planet Zeffo and want to leave the planet. After returning to the landing zone, you will notice that the AT-ST is firing at the Mantis - the team's spaceship. The encounter will begin after getting close enough to AT-ST.
Boss has three main types of attacks. The first attack type is blaster strike. You can deflect laser projectiles with your lightsaber. This requires good timing, as the laser missiles fly in series. Unfortunately, successfully reflected projectiles will only cause minor damage to the AT-ST.
The second type of AT-ST walker attack is a grenade launcher strike. AT-ST scatters blue grenades in the area. They can spontaneously explode if Cal gets within their reach. In the latter case, the protagonist may be electrocuted and temporarily immobilized.
If you have enough energy to attack with the Force, you can activate the Force Push when the boss is scattering grenades, so that at least one grenade will fly towards AT-ST. Unfortunately, the boss's injuries will be minor.
The third type of boss's attack is the launch of homing missiles. Fortunately, these are single missiles and you can avoid being hit by making jumps at the right moments.
As in the case of the grenades described above, it is possible to support yourself by Force Push. You can use it to "turn" the missiles towards the machine. Then, the AT-ST may receive a higher amount of damage.
Albino Wyyyschokk
Albino Wyyyschokk's lair can be found on the way to the place where the Wookiees are imprisoned. The large spider lives in one of the big caves. It is adjacent to the location with Stormtroopers fighting with "regular" spiders.
The fight can begin in two ways - you can attack the spider by jumping on it or the spider can surprise you. In the latter case, you need to free yourself - quickly press the button displayed on the screen.
Albino Wyyyschokk has similar attacks to the "normal" spiders. Its main attack is shooting spiderwebs. If you do not have time to dodge them, then you can get caught in a cocoon - this makes you defenseless for a brief moment. Press the displayed button rapidly to free yourself from the cocoon.
The boss also uses melee attacks. Normal attacks can be parried or dodged. As for the red attacks (example in the picture), the only way to avoid damage is to dodge at the right moment.
The best way to attack Albino Wyyyschokk is after each successful parry and after each dodged attack. You can also use Forcer Slow to give yourself more time to attack the boss.
Security Droid
The Droid relies on melee attacks. The droid's regular attacks can be parried (the boss moves slowly which gives you a large window to parry) or dodged. The droid's red attacks (example above) have to be avoided by rolling to the side. If you fail to dodge this attack, Cal will be caught by the droid and receive more damage.
The droid is very slow and you can easily find an opportunity to damage it after dodging its attacks.
Defeating the boss triggers a cut-scene. After that, you can continue the main mission on Kashyyyk.
Rabid Jotaz
Rabid Jotaz is in the side arena. It is located far to the left of the meditation spot in the Crash Site. Along the way, Cal will encounter "an ordinary" Jotaz, but you can easily run away from the creature and immediately climb the upper shelf. BD-1 should attach to the panel and disable the force field. Cal must go through a few poorly lit corridors.
The best way to start the fight is to attack the boss from above. Wait until Rabid Jotaz is under the shelf on which Cal stands. Then, jump towards the beast and press the attack button when the corresponding icon appears. The advantage of this method is that the boss will lose a lot of health.
After that, focus on dodging the monster's attacks because they deal huge damage. Even though "the regular" arm attack can be blocked, you should try to dodge to the sides.
Haxion Brood Commando
He has a wide range of skills - he can use a blaster, throw grenades, support himself with a shield and sometimes may charge at you with a shield.
Haxion Brood Bounty Droid
It is a heavily armored droid, which uses melee strikes and ranged attacks. The most serious attack of the droid is the charge. Avoiding it is very important, as this attack may knock you down and deal a lot of damage.
The general tip for all battles with bounty hunters is to focus on one opponent and in the meantime avoid attacks from the other bounty hunter. After the first hunter has been eliminated, the battle against the second bounty hunter will be much less demanding.
Haxion Brood Bounty Hunter
He uses his jet pack to move around the area and attack from the air. This enemy often uses a blaster and flamethrower. Look for an opportunity to strike him with melee attacks when he reloads his weapons.
Nydak Alpha
Nydak Alpha is a stronger version of regular Nydaks you may have encountered earlier while exploring Dathomir. You have to perfectly dodge all attacks, even the normal ones because they deal much more damage.
The general tactic is very similar to those used against standard Nydaks - look for an opportunity to use Force Slow and attack the boss after dodging/blocking/parrying its attacks.
Nydak Alpha also has red attacks - it can jump towards the main character or slam the ground. Jump at the right moment to avoid damage. Any dodged red attack is an ideal opportunity to counterattack.
If you get injured, run away from the boss before you ask BD-1 for treatment - Nydak Alpha can quickly approach you.
Taron Malicos
Malicos will use a split lightsaber throughout the entire duel. The boss will perform a series of attacks. Avoid interrupting them with normal attacks - wait until the series is over or you can try to parry his attacks.
The boss also has red attacks. These are primarily aerial attacks that end a series of regular attacks.
You can easily interrupt Malicos' attacks with Force Push. The important information is, however, that it will only work if the boss is performing an attack (normal or red). Otherwise, this attempt will fail - Malicos blocks any push. You will only waste the Force.
Force Push is especially useful when you are near the edge of the arena. The boss won't move too far away - you will be able to reach him faster and attack before he gets up.
Follow the same tactic used during the duel with the Ninth Sister - try to deplete the boss's stamina bar. Once Malicos loses the white bar above his head, he will become vulnerable to your attacks for a brief moment - you can attack him once or decide to make a few strikes.
The boss likes to "play" with his lightsabers. Malicos can attack you with one blade while the other is levitating. You can't underestimate this move - the boss will throw the other lightsaber at the right moment. You can try to stop the whole sequence by using the Force Push or be ready to deflect the incoming lightsaber.
In the next stage of the battle, this attack can evolve - Malicos will throw both lightsabers and perform a red attack from the air. Block the lightsabers and use Force Push to cancel the boss's leap.
Malicos can throw boulders at the hero. In the initial stage of the battle, he throws single boulders. However, in the next phase, he will throw a few of them - three single throws and a separate throw of three boulders. You can try to deflect them, jump to the sides at the right time, or run to the boss and interrupt the whole attack with Force Push.
In the second phase (the one that begins after a short cut-scene), expect occasional support from the Nightsister Merrin. She can help the main hero to stop Malicos and deal him damage. Use her help to deal damage to the boss when he is briefly exposed to your attacks.
The Ninth Sister
The First Phase
The Ninth Sister fights mainly with her lightsaber. Usually, she performs a series of three swings that can be blocked or parried. She can also use red attacks - in this case, the only effective solution is to dodge to the side or back. Her red attacks are a 360 degrees spin, A lightsaber thrust, A jump followed by a lightsaber slam.
Red attacks can be stopped by Force Push but this is rather risky. The important thing is to look for opportunities to strike the boss after she finishes her attack or after she misses with a red attack.
The Ninth Sister can also use the Force - she has access to Force Push and Force Pull. They can temporarily stun or paralysis Cal. Wait for the moment when you regain control over the main character and quickly dodge to the side to avoid the boss' lightsaber attack.
A good tactic is to keep attacking the Ninth Sister to deplete her stamina bar. As a reminder, the boss's stamina is displayed by the white bar above her head.
You can deplete the Sister's stamina bar by attacking her repeatedly but Force Push is a better solution.
The Second Phase
Ninth Sister's second phase starts when she loses about 1/3 of her health. This will be triggered by a short cut-scene. The Ninth Sister will start using a double-bladed lightsaber.
The Ninth Sister acquired not only a new weapon, but also new attacks: A jump combined with a lightsaber spin and, a double-bladed lightsaber throw.
The Ninth Sister's much more dangerous new attack is her red charge. You can't block this type of attack - dodge to the side. You have to practice to learn the proper timing for a dodge.
You should focus on depleting the boss's stamina bar. This will allow you to break through the Ninth Sister's defense and damage her with a series of lightsaber strikes.
The Third Phase
The third phase starts "unofficially" when the boss has 1/3 of her health bar left. The Ninth Sister can now hit the ground and cause a shock wave. Use double jump to avoid getting damaged
.
Another problem with the third phase is that the boss can use two charges in a row. Don't get caught and always be ready to dodge.
The duel with the Ninth Sister will end with the final lightsaber struggle. Win, and you will trigger a cut-scene.
Second Sister
The key thing to watch out for in the Second Sister boss fight is her unblockable attacks, indicated by when she glows red. These often come at the end of a long string of normal attacks, or right after you've attacked her. The optimal time to get in a heavy attack is when she performs her ground slam, as her lightsaber will get stuck in the ground for a moment, opening a window of opportunity. Just make sure you dodge out of the way when she leaps into the air.
Her other unblockable attack is similar, but she executes it quicker and you don't want to try and squeeze in a retaliation right after it because she'll often follow it up with another quick attack. Instead, use this time to step back and heal up if you need it
When it comes to her regular attacks, most of them are fairly easy to parry if you get your timings right and doing so will interrupt her combo. Remember, if you need time to heal or you need to get a heavy attack in, Force Slow works so you can buy yourself a few moments.
Eventually, you'll reach a stage of the fight where the Second Sister will taunt you around the side of the arena. Don't fall for her intimidation tactics because she'll zap out of your way as you go to attack her; instead, wait for her incoming unblockable lunge attack after she draws a line in the ground with her lightsaber. This attack has ridiculous range, so you need to time your dodge perfectly.
Finally, make sure you're using the single-bladed lightsaber for this fight (and most other bosses)! The double lightsaber might have increased range and faster attacks, but the single lightsaber deals more damage per attack and you won't be able to get more than one or two hits off in a row in this fight anyway. When you've whittled the Second Sister down to half health, the cutscene will begin and you've "beaten" her.
GORGARA
The duel with Gorgara is mandatory-you can't miss it. This fight consists of two parts. The more important difficult first part will begin when you reach the Witches Horn cave on Dathomir. Gorgara will appear after the main character examines the corpse found in the cave.
During the fight, Gorgara attacks primarily by hitting the ground with its upper limbs. These are both usual attacks and red ones which are more dangerous. After using a red attack, the boss will stop for some time. This is an opportunity to attack the limb stuck in the ground.
Gorgara's another attack is biting. This attack telegraphed by the boss - this should give you enough time to dodge backward or prepare to block/parry.
Gorgara can also attack you with its wing. This is a red attack, so don't try to block it. An additional problem is that this attack has a large radius. Either move quickly away from the boss or try to double jump over the wing.
After several successful attacks, Gorgara will be stunned. The blue glow around the monster signals that you can use the Force - use Force Pull to knock the boss to the ground.
In the next phase, Gorgara will start flying around the cave. The boss now has two aerial attacks: Scream. This attack goes in a straight line, it cannot "turn", ground slam causing a shock wave - Try to move away from the place where the boss has landed. You can use double jump to jump over the shock wave.
In the later phase, Gorgara will start to run around the arena. Don't risk here, focus on dodging. Wait for the boss to start using its main attacks again - this is the easiest way to weaken it.
One of the later boss's attacks is wings flap. Fortunately, this is one of the heavily telegraphed attacks - you should have plenty of time to move away from the boss to get out of reach of its wings.
You can't kill Gorgara yet. The boss will escape from the cave when it has a few health points left.
Trilla Suduri (Final Boss)
Getting the best of Trilla isn’t easy. She’s got a heap of powerful attacks to watch out for, but if you know what to look for, then you should breeze past her.
Be patient when she opens up with a long combo – Trilla is open for a couple of strikes or one powerful attack. This boss actually has a few different long combos, so don’t rush to get the hit in – instead, learn the pattern and wait until you’re confident that there’s no follow-up before leaning in to deal some damage.
Watch out for Trilla’s probe droid, it can be easy to put all of your attention on the droid, but she remains the main threat at all times. Focus on Trilla first, and parrying the droid’s shots second. When you’ve blocked a barrage of shots, use Force pull to draw the droid in and then fire it at Trilla for a tidy bit of damage.
If you spot Trilla putting her lightsaber away then watch out: she’s about to perform a devastating strike. To survive this make sure you don’t evade too soon – wait until she starts moving as she can travel across the arena with this attack.
You can drain Trilla Suduri’s stamina bar and get in a damaging flurry of strikes, and one easy way to do this is to use Force Push on her and parrying a couple of her hits.
If you’re playing on the hardest two Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order difficulty settings then you need to watch out for an additional attack where she throws her lightsaber at you and then follows up with a series of strikes – don’t just parry once or you’ll get mauled.
